Bible story: How God made everything

Value: Be a good steward

How God made everything!

In the beginning, there was nothing but darkness, but God had a special plan to fill the world with light and love. He said, “Let there be light!” And just like that, the sky was filled with light.

On the first day, God created day and night. He called the light “day” and the darkness “night”.

On the second day, God made the sky. He made it big and blue, with fluffy clouds dancing in the air.

On the third day, God separated the land from the sea, creating tall mountains, big seas, and decorating the world with bright flowers, big trees and green grass.

On the fourth day, God created the sun to shine brightly during the day and the moon to glow softly at night. He also made twinkling stars.

On day five, God filled the seas with fish and made birds to fly through the sky. The earth was now full of life and energy!

On the sixth day, God made animals of all shapes and sizes – from tiny insects to tall giraffes and strong lions.

Then He thought, “This world needs someone special.” So, God created people – a man and a woman – in His image. He gave them a very important job to do, as His special helpers. They had to look after this amazing world He created.

Finally, on the seventh day, God rested. He looked at everything He made and smiled, saying, “It is very good.”

And that’s how God created the world in seven days, teaching us to love and care for the earth and all its wonders.

(Genesis 1-2)
