Bible Story: David dances for God
Value: Be grateful
David dances for God
Many years ago, there was a wise and brave king named David. He loved God with all his heart. He wanted everyone to know how great God was.
At the time, God’s people, the Israelites, had the Ark of the Covenant – a big golden box, which was a special reminder of God’s love and promises.
One day, David decided to bring the Ark of the Covenant to the city of Jerusalem. As they walked, everyone started praising God and thanking Him for His goodness. Music filled the air as they played instruments, danced and sang. David sang and danced right in front! He didn’t care what anyone thought.
When they arrived in Jerusalem, David set up a special tent for the Ark. He taught everyone a song about all the wonderful things God had done for them, like saving them from being slaves in Egypt and giving them their own land. God deserved all the praise and worship, because He was the One who made everything possible.
And so, with hearts full of gratitude, the people of Israel continued to worship and praise God, knowing that He loved them and cared for them.

This week we’ve been talking about how King David and the Israelites worshipped God. David’s worship teaches us that it’s important to thank God and show our love for Him. We can thank God by singing songs, praying and even dancing like David did! When we show God that we are grateful, it makes Him happy.
What can you be grateful for today? Let’s pray and thank God for that.
